$58 Hypocrisy

A few of my friends know I have started this blog and are now sending me headlines as fodder. This morning I received this banner with the question, “Do you see the irony in this Viv?”

AOC Says Capitalism is ‘Irredeemable’ But Sells $58 ‘Tax the Rich’ Shirts

Sorry my friend this is beyond irony, although it is indeed laughable. When one does not live by the morals and beliefs they espouse, it’s hypocrisy.

AOC is well-known for promoting socialism. Yet, like Bernie Sanders, she does not practice what she preaches. BTW, did you know Bernie has three houses? Clearly, AOC enjoys the spoils of American capitalism without an understanding of how she attained them or how life would be without them. She uses her smartphone to Tweet, yet I doubt she has stopped to ponder the fact that smartphones and social media platforms are the result of American capitalism. So is the Tesla electric car, technology that would be an essential part of her Green New Deal. And what about the medicines that are saving people’s lives during the pandemic, and now the Covid-19 vaccines. Does AOC understand these inventions are not coming from socialist countries, nor will they ever.

AOC’s claims to represent the working folks, the downtrodden, and those who have lost their jobs to Covid-19. If this is true, then why is she selling t-shirts for $58? That’s a capitalist profit of about $54 for each shirt. She claims to use the money for campaign funding. OK AOC, if you are against capitalism why are you using capitalism to fund your campaign platform of socialism? I’m pretty sure that is hypocrisy in action! It's time to stop preaching and start practicing.
